在反應槽內順序加入顆粒狀氫氧化鉀8kg、粉末狀碳酸鈉（蘇打灰）（旭硝子株式會社制）7kg和金屬硅化物30kg，再加入60l的水。在其中開始自然反應，從下層的氫氧化鉀開始劇烈反應，在反應槽內從下側向上側發生對流。反應溫度自然上升，反應溫度在80~90℃的范圍內時，呈活躍的反應狀態。反應溫度高不超過92℃。反應在10h左右結束，分離固體，可以獲得約48l（約70kg）耐火液。

（3）這種耐火粘合劑性能若用耐火液涂覆木板，將涂覆的木板靠近1000~c火焰處30min不會發生燃燒。若將耐火膠黏劑混合物加壓脫水45%水分含量，在180℃下加壓1h制得輕質耐火材料。

將這種耐火材料靠近1500℃火焰觀察30min，10min后耐火材料表面發生陶瓷化，經30min燃燒后，切開耐火材料，陶瓷化深度僅o.8mm，火未通人耐火材料內部。此外，耐火材料隔音抗沖擊性能亦佳。其可切、鋸、釘釘子、釘螺釘等加工性能與木材類同。

Observe this refractory material close to a 1500 ℃ flame for 30 minutes. After 10 minutes, the surface of the refractory material undergoes ceramic transformation.
